My Manifesto: Making it Happen for HammersmithMy vision for Hammersmith is one where:
As you can see the Liberal Democrats have a swathe of exciting policies for Hammersmith and for Britain. We are the most progressive and democratic of all parties and will fight for greater social justice as well as safeguard your individual rights and freedom. There is no doubt that we are entering an era of rising cost of food and fuel; a credit crunch and falling property prices. We therefore need sound economic policies that benefit not the rich but the average citizen. We advocate lower taxes for those in the lower income bracket but not at the expense of cuts in public services. Beware of warm words from the centre right party which has not and are unlikely to translate into real policies nor deliver any positive change for ordinary families. Your Tory Council has introduced new charges for green waste collection, closed job centres and even cut subsidies for school uniforms! Meanwhile Boris Johnson as London's new Mayor has abandoned even any monitoring targets for new affordable housing. This is clearly a warning against electing a Tory MP. Labour as you will probably agree has lost its way. With Nick Clegg, our dynamic new leader and Vince Cable our highly respected Shadow Chancellor, you know every vote for the Lib Dems here will be a vote for fairer policies. We need you to help us break out from the tired politics of Labour versus Tories. A lot of rhetoric but very little difference. Vote for me and let's Make it Happen for Hammersmith!
